I introduce myself as Koyal Suman Samantaray, a graduating Ph.D. student from the Dept. of Physics at IIT Indore working under the supervision of Dr. Somaditya Sen.

I am about to receive my Ph.D. in the field of experimental condensed matter physics.

My thesis is based on improving the ferroelectric energy storage and piezoelectric constant in NBT based ceramics. I have tried to understand the depolarization phenomena in NBT-based ferroelectrics in terms of free energy (Landau-Devonshire Theory) and phonon modes (Raman spectroscopy). I have explored the possibility of polarons in NBT based materials both experimentally and theoretically. An attempt was made to unveil the piezoelectric effect in piezo-phototronic coupling in NBT nanofibers both theoretically and experimentally.
